Spinning the various aspects of technology

Internet Explorer 7 was released this week, but has had some problems already. I know, surprising since Microsoft always releases such great products that only need security updates once a day. Needless to say, I installed IE7 but found one major problem for myself, FTP access to a website would not work. For those wondering, FTP is a method to upload files to a personal website, via Internet Explorer, without the need for any third party application.

I decided to uninstall IE7 after this discovery, only to find the program was not listed in the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel. Well, after searching and searching, I’ve learned one must check the box titled Show Updates in the Add/Remove Programs section. Secondly, IE7 is listed as Windows Internet Explorer, while I was looking for Internet Explorer or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Once I actually noticed the Windows Internet Explorer option, the uninstall was a breeze, with a restart upon completion.
