Facebook today has launched another standalone app, this time for their Groups service. The app has a nice clean interface with opportunities to discover additional groups based on interests and area. You can also create new groups, configure all of your group alerts from within the app and join and leave groups. It also displays the number of unread posts since your last visit to the group.
People were not happy with the Messenger service going to its own standalone app but this might be a different story. I’ve always found Groups in the main Facebook mobile app to be a bit cumbersome and not as easy to access quickly. With more and more usage taking place on mobile versus desktop, this should prove to be a useful app for those involved with various Facebook Groups.
