I’ve had my BlackBerry 8800 for over 2 weeks now and I am impressed. It’s like having a Pearl with a full keyboard, and a few extras. Here are a few of the things I enjoy about the 8800:
– slim enough to put in a pocket without adding too much of that mobile phone bulk
– very nice and bright screen
– speaker is loud, very loud, so loud that I have to turn it down at times
– GPS with Telenav (my Telenav review will be coming soon) or other software such as BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps
– separate email and SMS messages into their own folders (yes this is available on other devices but only for select themes)
– micro SD card can be inserted / removed without removing the battery
– comes with a nice leather holster
While I do miss having a camera on the 8800 which I did have on my Pearl, I am enjoying the GPS functionality. Once the new BlackBerry Curve is released, with a camera but no GPS, then a decision will have to be made. To take pictures or to not get lost. Until then, I’ll enjoy the 8800.
