Rogers has dropped the price for the BlackBerry 8700r to $299.99, with a 3 year contract of course. This is a significant drop from the previous price of $499.99 with a similar term.
Incidentally, this will also help to drop the after market price of the device on such venues as eBay and HowardForums.
